    The Jr. Training Designer’s primary responsibility is for the technical development and deployment of training/learning materials using a variety of tools and learning methodologies designed for classroom, video and web-based delivery mediums. In this position, you will support the instructional design process by working closely with subject matter experts, researching, and developing content for use in training materials, presentations, and assessments. This position will also be responsible for reporting on project progress, issues, and risks to Training Management, along with participating in Department efforts to improve curriculum and training processes by providing continual feedback and recommendations on existing curriculum. 


    • Develop instructional materials including facilitator/participant guides, power points, and handouts, applying solid instructional design skills, effective learning principles, and creativity to course design to engage students in the learning process, encourage participation, and meet the requirements of the adult learner
    • Develop courses designed for essential entry level foundations through senior level management development, intended for classroom delivery as well as, online delivery including video, web based, and interactive tutorials
    • Record and edit voiceover audio files
    • Interact with SMEs (subject matter experts) and other project team members to create and design interactive content within specific budget and schedule
    • Create products with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy, and work within a team environment
    • Interact with team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner.
    • Perform multiple concurrent tasks
    • Collaborate with the L&D Director to assess individual department learning needs and develop quality interactive training documents and/or blended learning outcomes (such as eLearning, videos and podcasts) for corporate-wide implementation
    • Review and revise existing content to create training programs to meet customer needs, expectations, and requirements
    • Take responsibility for projects and follow through to completion with minimal need for direct supervision
    • Select or develop teaching aids such as operating procedures, training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, or tutorials
    • Other duties assigned as needed

    Requirements and Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational technologies including learning management systems, instructional design, and web-based applications, graphic design, and multimedia educational products
    • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact at all levels of an organization and write clear, concise and creative training documentation
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Ability to manage time and work independently
    • Positive attitude, attention to detail and customer service focus
    • Strong Project Management skills and the ability to plan, organize and successfully coordinate multiple priorities to meet all deadlines and deliverables
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion
    • Ability to conduct research into course development and delivery concepts, as well as technical software issues
    • Ability to accept and provide constructive feedback in a professional manner

    Strongly Preferred:

    • Familiarity with video editing tools
    • Familiarity with tools including LMS, Content Management Systems, Assessment Engines and Web Applications; strong knowledge of authoring technologies, design tools, and multimedia applications, such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier, Microsoft SharePoint, CSS, HTML, JAVA script, XML, SCORM
