  • Overview

    NorthStar Memorial Group (NSMG) is looking for an Application Support Specialist to support new and existing company applications from our home office and provide tier 2 support for multiple remote locations.  The specialist will work closely with IT, external departments, and remote locations to ensure the company’s applications are functioning correctly.


    • Act as liaison between end users, held desk, and product management teams.
    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all internal applications.
    • Provide support and documentation for new application rollouts.
    • Support existing applications and provide interdepartmental reports on application performance.
    • Assist with application data migration between old and new systems.
    • Receive, triage, repair and, as necessary, route end user support calls.
    • Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for application issues, including executive support.
    • Assist with analyzing the application requirements of end users.
    • Assist with application upgrades and post-upgrade testing.
    • Provide on-going documentation to the helpdesk for support of all applications.
    • Ability to travel periodically (California, Florida, Hawaii); travel expectation less than 5%

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background

    • Strong experience with end user application support.
    • Strong experience with Microsoft desktop operating systems and Office applications.
    • Prefer experience with Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Experience with Powershell and/or other scripting languages for testing/reporting
    • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems and network infrastructure related issues.
    • Experience supporting multiple locations.
    • Knowledge of basic network connectivity with the desktop and local area networks.
    • ITIL experience preferred

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • 2+ years of progressive experience in computer and application administration and troubleshooting.
    • 1+ year of scripting/reporting
    • Certification – A+, Network+, or MTA
